The Association for Women in Sports Media continues to monitor the situation regarding Ines Sainz and the New York Jets. The NFL and the Jets are still conducting their investigations into an alleged incident at Saturday’s practice. AWSM is expecting to receive their reports sometime Tuesday. If Jets players, coaches and staff allegedly involved in the incident are found to have acted in unprofessional and harassing behavior toward Ms. Sainz, we expect and demand reprimand and punishment by the NFL and Jets.
An educational session between AWSM and the Jets will be held sometime this week or early next week.
AWSM remains steadfastly committed to a positive and equitable workplace environment for women in sports media.
