Those who join or renew during our September membership drive gain access to our upcoming exclusive digital conversation with seven-time Olympic gold medalist Katie Ledecky on Tuesday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m. Eastern Time (6 p.m. Central Time and 4 p.m. Pacific Time).

AWSM is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1987 as a support network and advocacy group for women who work in all levels of sports media.

Membership is available to those of all genders working at the student and professional levels of sports media, along with those who have retired or left the industry.

In addition to digital and in person guest speakers and networking events, AWSM provides student scholarships (AWSM Scholars), a robust job board, mid-career mentor programs (AWSM Champions), an annual convention and more.

AWSM needs you now more than ever. We have continued to offer support services for our student and professional members along with hiring managers recruiting talented women for jobs in sports media, but we have been hit hard by the pandemic and ensuing economic downturn. Every membership registration and renewal helps us continue to provide essential services.

Despite being one of the lower priced professional journalism organizations, we have not raised rates in years because we are concerned about the financial challenges our current and prospective members are facing.
