Your heart will be pumping and your adrenaline will be racing on opening night of the 2011 AWSM Convention.
The reason: NASCAR ride-alongs.
Talk about getting off to a fast start.
If you’ve ever wondered what it felt like to go nearly 200 miles an hour, you’ll have a chance to find out. The convention gets the green flag as we head to Charlotte Motor Speedway, and you get to suit up, climb into a two-seat stock car and zoom around the track with the NASCAR Racing Experience.
Even when your ride is over, you won’t slow down. During our three-day convention, you will be educated and inspired by panelists and speakers who are experts in their fields. Panel topics include social media, locker room issues and all-platform journalists. Confirmed speakers include NASCAR executive Lesa France Kennedy, who has been called the most powerful woman in sports.
You won’t want to miss a minute of the fun!
Cost of advance registration is $200 for AWSM members and $150 for students. Cost for non-members is $325. Day rates are $125.
To make sure you don’t miss any of it, please plan on arriving at the hotel no later than 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 23.
Our room rate at the Omni Charlotte Hotel is $129 (singles/doubles). The host hotel is in the heart of uptown Charlotte at the corner of Trade and Tryon streets.
Room reservations must be made by June 2; room availability and the AWSM rate are not guaranteed after this date.
