Want to do something simple that can make a huge difference in the lives of homeless and expecting mothers?
AWSM will be collecting travel-sized toiletries for Maggie’s Place (Maggiesplace.org) at our upcoming Phoenix convention (June 20-23). Maggie’s Place has locations in Phoenix and Cleveland, providing for the physical and emotional needs of mothers. They provide pre-natal and post-partum care, food and shelter, counseling, and assistance in building support networks to improve the lives of mother and child.
It’s so easy to help. Next time you’re on the road, take some (or all!) of the trial-sized freebies left in the bathroom. Or make a run to the local drugstore and buy some travel-sized items.
Bring the toiletries to Phoenix, leave them in the convenient convention drop boxes, and we will bring them to Maggie’s Place.
It’s a great way to give back and help other women. Many thanks to 2008 Pioneer Award winner Mary Schmitt Boyer for the idea.
