The Association for Women in Sports Media is elated to announce the newest class of AWSM Scholars.
Since 1990, AWSM has placed female college students interested in sports media careers in paid summer internships in the industry. The eight young women who received placements this year demonstrated their talent, integrity and drive throughout our competitive application process.
In addition to the paid internship, winners receive a $1,000 scholarship and will attend our annual convention, taking place in June 2019 in Tampa, Fla.
This program wouldn’t be possible without our generous donors:
CNN Sports, ESPN, MLB.com, Sporting News, Sports Illustrated, USA Softball and USA Today return as host employers for this internship class. AWSM also welcomes the WNBA's Connecticut Sun, a first-time host, in 2019.
