Association for Women in Sports Media member Katie Nolan, who served as a keynote speaker during the 2016 annual convention in Miami, is competing on Celebrity Jeopardy! to raise money for our organization.

The second season of Celebrity Jeopardy! premiered on Wednesday, Sept. 27, on ABC and featured 27 celebrities facing off for a shot at winning $1 million for a charity of their choice.

Nolan reached the Celebrity Jeopardy! Finals and finished in third place, raising $100,00 for AWSM. She first competed in the quarterfinals against Christopher Meloni and Sherri Shepherd on Wednesday, Oct. 11. The episode came down to a dramatic finish between Nolan and Meloni after both answered the Final Jeopardy question correctly, finishing the round tied. The rare tie-breaker question was brought into play, with the first contestant to answer correctly declared the winner and advancing to the semifinals. Nolan successfully responded to the clue “Drink up! A famous New Orleans street is named after this dynasty that ruled France for most of the 17th & 18th centuries," with “What is Bourbon?” to advance. In the semifinals onTuesday, Jan. 23 she beat Dulé Hill and Steven Weber to advance to the finals.

The Association for Women in Sports Media is a 501(c)(3) organization whose female and male members support the advancement and growth of women – both professional and student – in sports media.

Membership is available to those of all genders working at the student and professional levels of sports media, along with those who have retired or left the industry.
