Teri Boardman Boggess

When did you join AWSM?

Around 1992 or 1993. I don’t recall. My first convention was Seattle, I believe. Then Austin, Colorado Springs and Miami.

How has AWSM helped you?

AWSM provides inspiration. When I was starting out – and even 10 years into my career – women were still scarce in sports departments. AWSM helped me connect with a wonderful group of women with shared interest in and understanding of sports that many of us still don’t find in a random group of female friends. And I’m so proud of the women who I saw join AWSM as interns or fresh-out-of-college journalists who have grown, matured and contributed to AWSM’s development while building outstanding careers.
